If architecture is defined as much by the events that it witnesses as the spaces that it encloses (as the Situationists, Tschumi, Coates et al claim), then a good starting point for a design might be to create the end building user. Who would you want to live with? Who would be your choice neighbour? And what is the professional opposite of an architect’s office: a WOW nail salon?
